Frequently Asked Questions

1. How long does it take? - 5-6 months of classroom and lab, then another 6 to 12 months of clinical & field internship time.

2. Will I be required to complete hospital observation? - A clinical internship of at least 400 hours and a field internship of at least 200+ hours are mandatory components of the program.

3. Can I do my clinical time anywhere I want? - You need to do your clinical time at approved sites.

4. Who does the scheduling? - The student is responsible for doing their own scheduling.

5. Of the approved sites, can I go to where I want? - We assign you to sites, but we do consider your request.

6. How long do I have to finish my clinical time? - 12 months

7. Where do we do our clinical , what are the sites? - Will be explained in the class when we are ready to start clinical, but most programs do clinical at the same sites.

8. Do I have to take a drug test? - Typically, no. Drug testing for clinical & field components are site dependent.

9. Do I have to sign the CORI? - Yes.

10. Do I have to have health insurance? - Yes, during your clinical and field internships along with required immunizations.
